to be read Tuesday, Sept. 28

When people began to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters were born to them, 2the sons of God saw that they were fair; and they took wives for themselves of all that they chose. 3Then the Lord said, ‘My spirit shall not abide in mortals for ever, for they are flesh; their days shall be one hundred and twenty years.’ 4The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterwards—when the sons of God went in to the daughters of humans, who bore children to them. These were the heroes that were of old, warriors of renown.

Again Linda thanks for your comment on Monday. Notice how active God is in the spirit striving to get men to repentance and righteousness. Notice the years left of Gods patients with man and their hard hearts and dead Godly spirits. Misunderstanding Gods Word and sin is not going to be overlooked. 120 years to go before God distroys mankind and His creation on this earth.Everything that has breath is about to be gone.

This is one of the strangest passages in the Bible, and one of the most difficult to figure out. A good question to ask of it is, if the "sons of God" were the culprits, why did the earthlings get punished?

Yes, 120 years to the destruction of the flesh of the evil, but not so for the evil spirit that resided in that flesh.

People tend to think to literally when they see the phrase "sons of God".

(Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7)

We must remember that the angels are the original "sons of God" and that the Nephilim(seeds of the fallen angels, the demons which were Satan & the 1/3 that fell with him) were upon the earth prior to & at the same time. The Nephilim are also refered to as giants & great warriors that were on the earth prior to the fall of Adam & Eve. Hebrew describes the Nephilim as "strong & tall"; crossbreeds of the "sons of God" & daughters of man. Do you suppose that one of these demons had entered Eve when she bore Cain? And it was possible that not until after she suffered the loss of Abel from Cain's evil & rejection of God, that she found the true faith that would sow the seed of Seth?

Finally, from this we also know that these demons can not be destroyed by any earthly destruction for they are not of the earth, but of the spirit world. The Gospel is fraught with stories from the old & of the new.

(Jude 6 & 2 Pet 2: 4-5)

These demons run rampid in the world we live in today. Inflitrating every nook & cranny of our world, including our churches; disguising themselves as preachers when in fact they are apostates in sheeps clothing. (Matthew 7)
